2011 MTV Movie Awards Preview: Best Movie

Posted by with No Comments

Next Movie weighs in on this years nominees for ‘Best Movie':

‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’

“Eclipse” earned $700 million at the worldwide box office, yet was ignored by the Oscars. Fie on you, Academy! Fie! Granted, Twi-Hards would probably have loved this movie no matter how good it was; but fortunately it was good, with thrilling fight scenes, comedic moments, two swoon-worthy romances and plenty to keep fans of both Team Edward and Team Jacob happy. (We don’t know about you, but we always sleep half-naked when we go camping.) The bar’s been set. Your move, “Breaking Dawn.”

Movie Awards: A Fashion Homage To ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’

Posted by with No Comments

Twi-hards, your moment has come. We’ve rounded up an Polyvore assemblage worthy of all you beautiful Bellas out there, one that captures everything that reminds us of Twilight IRL where it’s not that vampires and werewolves don’t exist per se, it’s that we just, erm, haven’t found OUR VERY OWN to hug and love and hold (YET!). In the meantime, we can still thumb through the books and watch the series on repeat. With appropriate pauses to gaze longingly into the eyes of the sparkly Edward and sinewy Jacob… obvi.

Keeping with the movies’ laidback wardrobe, we feature a plaid cotton button-up from The Outnet, a gray V-neck pocket tee from Madewell, a Free People cargo anorak, and these awesomely distressed Diesel exposure sneakers. If you’re feeling a little vamp-y (as in like a vampire, not a harlot), slather yourself in Immortelle Devine Creme (ZOMG IMMORTALITY CREAM aka anti-aging cream teehee) and Odd Molly sparkly body lotion. Not into being a vampire and would rather just date one? That’s fine. But you’re gonna need these Twilight band-aids and some iron supplements to combat anemia. Actually, you’ll need those if you date a werewolf, too, so just stock up, mini-Bellas. And since we KNOW you’re STILL trying to make up your mind (you fickle things), an apple and a wolf charm that you can switch out depending on your mood that day. Or which one you’re about to see *wink*

Peter Murphy Talks About His ‘Eclipse’ Experience

Posted by with No Comments

Peter Murphy did a Q&A with Sound Spike talking about his music but he also mentions he did a cameo in ‘Eclipse’ as “The Cold One”. He’s also mentions Kristen Stewart, hmmm….does someone have a celebrity crush? ;-)

Tell me about your appearance in “Eclipse.” How did that come to pass?

It was very short. I was very pleased. David Slade, the director, was brought in to give it some kind of edge. I wasn’t too worried either way [if I appeared in the movie]. I did want to appear in it. He said he would like me to play a short cameo role, which to him was like a secret wink to those who know who I am and what I’ve done, and a bookend to “The Hunger,” if you like. I loved it. I thought it was a very nice idea. I was thrilled to go on to the set in the mountains in Vancouver. It was amazing to be an actor for three days. I did hair, and a wig, and make up, and stunt training. The day of the shoot, I was with the young kids who are the stars of “Twilight.” It was like, “Wow. Look at this.” They had to hide me because it’s such a humungous enterprise. It was a joy to be on the set. It really enforced the fact that I do have an urge to act. Up until now I felt that was a little pretentious of me, but I do feel that I can act. Talking to David and other people on the set, they encouraged me. I’m going to hopefully look in to other opportunities to act proper. The “Twilight” thing was very short, brief moment. I enjoyed the whole process.

I have to admit, I love those movies. I think they’re very clever.

I do too. I think that young actress [Kristen Stewart] is very good. She’s lovely, too.

And The Winners Are…

Posted by with No Comments

The People’s Choice winners are in and most of the results are no surprise. :)

Kristen Stewart – Favorite Movie Actress
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse – Favorite Drama Movie
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse – Favorite Movie
Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner – The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, Favorite On-Screen Team

Unfortunately, neither Rob nor Taylor won Favorite Movie Actor and likewise for Robert and Kristen who were both nominated for Favorite Movie Star Under 25, but 4 wins out of 8 nominations isn’t bad, at all. Congrats, guys! I can’t wait for Breaking Dawn to be equally, if not more successful!

People’s Choice Awards

I’ve embedded the livestream below where you’ll be able to watch red carpet arrivals and interviews if desired – Rob, Kristen, and Taylor are all expected to appear. The live feed starts at 7:30 EST. The site will continue being updated throughout the night as pictures from the event start to surface and are added to the gallery, so keep checking back! Winners – if and only our cast take home any awards – will be announced in a separate post after the awards ceremony has aired on the west coast.

EDIT:Sadly, none of the cast ended up walking the carpet, suggested they’re on a bit of a time crunch as they’re in the process of filming Breaking Dawn in Louisiana and only flew in for a short time for the event.
