How ‘Twilight’ changed them

Posted by with No Comments

You already know how “Twilight” has changed the lives of stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, who can thank the vampire franchise for their A-list status and lack of private lives. But what sort of impact have the films had on its supporting cast and the artists on the films’ soundtracks — other than earn them thousands of extra Twitter followers?

Here’s what some of the series’ actors — and singer Christina Perri, who sings the single “A Thousand Years” on the “Breaking Dawn — Part 1” soundtrack — had to say:

Ashley Greene (Alice Cullen): “I feel like not much hasn’t changed. I think the only thing that hasn’t changed are my core friends and family. I worked in a restaurant before I became part of ‘The Twilight Saga.’ I was trying to get a job, and landing one like this is crazy. To go from working at a restaurant to having an incredible fan base and doing press tours all over the world, it’s been amazing.”

Peter Facinelli (Dr. Carlisle Cullen): “It opened up my fan base. It was kind of nice. A lot of fans of ‘Twilight’ went back and watched some of my other work and became fans of mine. Not just from ‘Twilight,’ but my whole body of work. These fan events are phenomenal. I’ve never seen anything like it. Movies like this come around once in a career. Even if you’re in a big movie, they’re not always cultural phenomenons. I feel lucky to be a part of it.”

Nikki Reed (Rosalie Hale): “I got to take my family on our first family vacation in our whole life last year for Christmas. That obviously was because of ‘Twilight.’ I’ve gone all over the world, worked with incredible directors and I think I’ve grown as an actor. At least I hope I have. I also acquired a certain level of patience playing this character and waiting for ‘Breaking Dawn’ to come out.”

Jackson Rathbone (Jasper Hale): “It’s been wonderful (for my music career). The only thing I want to do with my music is have people dance and sing and have a good time. It’s all about the live show. If (‘Twilight’ fans) come and end up enjoying the live show — that’s what I’m hoping for.”

Charlie Bewley (Demetri): “It’s been a springboard toward what I want to do. I was in Vancouver when I got casted. Things were moving along, but this put me under a microscope a little bit. I was able to get a great agent, travel a lot and my bank balance wasn’t so low. I got to expand my horizons, really. Not to the extent some of these guys have experienced it, but it was a wonderful thing to come along.”

Christina Perri: “Because the soundtracks are really kind of epic now, I feel like people on them get global exposure. It’s bananas. You definitely have a shot at being really well-known. … Paramore had two songs on the (2008 ‘Twilight’) soundtrack, and I remember falling in love with them because of it.”

Peter Facinelli On Vinny Paz Role & How ‘Jersey Shore’ Made Him Want To Change His Name

Posted by with No Comments

Peter Facinelli is best known for playing a duo of doctors – Carlisle in “The Twilight Saga” and Coop in “Nurse Jackie” – but he might be stripping down to a pair of boxer’s shorts for a new role as in-the-ring champ Vinny Paz.

“I’m attached to it,” Peter told AccessHollywood.com of the film-in-the works, based on the life story of the Italian-American former world champ, who formerly went by Vinny Pazienza. “It’s pending script. Right now the script’s being written, so if the script is up to par, I’d love to do it.

“I’ve met Vinny Paz and I think his story is very inspirational,” Peter added. “It’d be fun to do a boxing movie.”

If everything works out, the role would mean a lot of training for the actor, to take on the champ’s shape.

“Yeah, for sure. Once I take on that role,” Peter said of changing his body type. “Vinny has a very specific shape to his body and I’d have to get my body to match his and get into fighting shape. I just think he has more bulk on him, so I would have to bulk up a little bit more.”

The role is a meaningful one to Peter, an Italian-American himself, who was raised in Queens. Less meaningful, however, is “Jersey Shore,” which recently filmed its next season in his parents’ homeland of Italy.

“I was thinking of changing my last name to McFacinelli because I was so embarrassed by ‘Jersey Shore,’ I was going to have to give up my heritage. But all joking aside, I grew up in Queens, New York, so I have friends that were ‘guidos’ like that,” Peter told Access. “I don’t know if ‘guido’ is a derogatory term. I considered myself [one] when I was growing up. I’m a reformed ‘guido,’ so I can use that term and not have it be derogatory.”

Peter Facinelli Producing Pic About Whitey Bulger’s Boston Gang

Posted by with No Comments

Twilight Saga star Peter Facinelli is producing an adaptation of Street Soldier: My Life as an Enforcer For Whitey Bulger and the Boston Irish Mob, an adaptation of the Edward MacKenzie and Phyllis Karas book. Facinelli Films is teamed with Brookstreet Pictures on an indie film that will tell the story of Bulger’s rise and disappearance from the Boston mob scene. While Bulger was said to have informed the character that Jack Nicholson played in The Departed, his tale has drawn film interest after he was apprehended in Santa Monica after vanishing in 1994 as federal agents were about to arrest him in connection with 21 killings, racketeering and other crimes perpetrated in the 70s and 80s involving his Winter Hill gang.

Peter Facinelli a ‘Reformed Guido’

Posted by with No Comments

Peter Facinelli has just wrapped another season of ‘Nurse Jackie’ (finale airs tonight on Showtime) and oh yeah, he also filmed a couple sequels to a series called ‘Twilight.’ Heard of it? The 37-year-old Queens native is married to Jennie Garth and together they have three impossibly cute daughters … who never get fazed by dad’s famous friends (including Rob Pattinson). In our chat, Facinelli talks about his successful career and marriage and why, as a really Italian guy, he’s come to accept those infectious ‘Jersey Shore’ kids.

“I grew up with a lot of guidos. I’ve learned to love them,” he says. “There’s probably a few pictures of me wearing” the kinds of pants they wear. “I’m probably a reformed guido myself.”

Nurse Jackie is a drug addict. You know that’s supposed to be very common in the medical profession.
I guess so. I’m not too familiar. There’s a lot of nurses that I run into and they’re like, ‘You know not every nurse is addicted to drugs,’ and I say, ‘You know not every nurse is Nurse Jackie.’ A lot of TV doctors and nurses seem to be addicts.

And hello! You have ‘Twilight.’ That must be the coolest thing to be a part of.
I’m having a good time with it. We finished filming four and five. I’m excited to have the filming portion of it over and now I can sit back as one of the fans and see how it all comes together.

Do your daughters think you’re so cool because you work with Robert Pattinson?
My daughters don’t usually get impressed by people I’ve worked with because they’re just Dad’s friends. I think they’re just enamored I’m part of the whole franchise. Rob is just one of Dad’s friends.

Are you amazed at what he and Kristen Stewart have to put up with?
I’m very proud of how they’ve handled it. It’s been fun for me to watch them rise to fame the way they have and the way they’ve handled it. When your life is put under a microscope like that it’s very difficult to function and I give them great credit for functioning and living a normal life within the realm of their fame.
